Have you ever wondered what it would be like to visit a cool Caribbean Island say like : Puerto Rico, browse one of it's town: Rincon, main street- Carr. 115, and come upon a place that prize its self on showcasing local artist and their art -Tres Puertas. Well, that's pretty much the idea behind the opening of our Anna-Maria Art Gallery, Blue Mermaid Gift Shop with Community Art Classes all happening down town in Rincon, Puerto Rico.
Living in an amazing beautiful town, with so much potential..yet not enough opportunities for artist to show and share local and hand made talent, a niche was definitely waiting to be filled.
Finding a local was a not so much of a challenge- not with as so many places laying vacant in the main town due to various reasons. But finding the right one to suite the needs of Tres Puertas, was.
After searching for approximately one month, finding the place, filing for the permits, waiting for the stamp of approval, water turned on, lights turned on, building revamped, artist in, doors open...and not necessarily all in that order- two more months and ten days had gone by.
Glad to say that's all behind us now ... with more fun things to look ahead to - like gallery openings, art classes, poetry readings, live music, summer camps ...oh the endless possibilities.
Congratulations! It looks like a lovely spot to visit! If we are ever in the area (my son and husband are both surfers) we will stop by...
